From WNBF to ANBF: Why We Chose a Better Path for Natural Bodybuilding
In the evolving world of natural bodybuilding, staying true to our mission and values means everything. After years of operating under the WNBF banner, our two long-standing shows have officially switched over to the ANBF (American Natural Bodybuilding Federation).
This wasn’t a decision made lightly—but it was one made with purpose.
Why We Left the WNBF
The WNBF has been a major name in natural bodybuilding for decades. These events have been hosted under their sanctioning for years and appreciate what the organization brought to the sport in the past.
But over time, it became clear that the direction and values of WNBF no longer aligned with what our shows—and our athletes—needed most.
We saw increasing disconnects in flexibility, innovation, and event support. The energy began to fade. Athlete experience was becoming rigid, and we felt limited in how we could grow our shows and support our community.
Why We Chose the ANBF
The ANBF represents everything we were looking for:

Since the switch, we’ve already felt the difference. The energy is back. Athletes are engaged. Communication is open. And we’re excited about what we can build moving forward under the ANBF banner.

For those of you who have been with us from the WNBF years—we thank you. But we also want to reassure you: the change to ANBF is not a downgrade—it’s a full upgrade.

Why We Believe in "American Natural Bodybuilding First"
Another key reason for our shift away from the WNBF was a noticeable change in their priorities. Over time, it became increasingly clear that the organization was shifting its focus away from the United States—and more toward growing its international presence.
While growth is important, we believe this came at the expense of U.S. athletes and promoters. The energy, support, and attention that once helped American shows thrive seemed to be redirected overseas. Domestic competitors and promoters were left feeling overlooked and under-supported.
At Begic Productions, we’re proud to support the American natural bodybuilding scene first. The ANBF shares that commitment—to building strong, fair, and energized events here at home, where the foundation of the sport was laid.
We believe U.S. athletes deserve:
